New Genealogy Book — Google Your Family Tree Now Available at Ellis Island
New York, NY — November 7, 2008 — FamilyLink.com, Inc., publishers of the new genealogy book Google Your Family Tree, announced today the availability of the book for purchase by visitors to Ellis Island and online at www.ellisisland.org, the popular free genealogy research Web site hosted by The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. The book, written by Daniel M. Lynch, is a detailed guidebook to using the Internet’s most popular and powerful search engine as a powerful tool to trace your family history online.
"Ellis Island is one of the most recognized symbols anywhere in the world and for many is synonymous with the concept of family history," said Jim Ericson, vice president of marketing for FamilyLink. Since May 2007, FamilyLink has partnered with the Foundation to highlight the availability of more than 24 million passenger arrivals through Ellis Island. Ericson noted that visitors to Ellis Island, located in New York Harbor, often spend time at the American Family Immigration History Center® in search of clues to their family heritage. The Google Your Family Tree book is a perfect complement to the other products offered to the more than two million visitors from around the world who visit Ellis Island annually.
"We are delighted to be among the first to offer Google Your Family Tree — a tremendous handbook for anyone using the Internet in the pursuit of their family history," said Peg Zitko, Vice President of Public Affairs for The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation. "It is simply loaded with tips for navigating the myriad tools offered by Google, and sure to be a favorite of both novice and seasoned family researchers."
The 352-page soft cover book sells for $34.95 and proceeds from the sale of the book will help the Foundation in their ongoing efforts of preservation, restoration, and education. Additional detail is available online at http://www.GoogleYourFamilyTree.com
